Celebrating 80 Years of Carlisle Park by The Friends of Carlisle Park
Published for the 80th anniversary of the opening of Carlisle Park this delightful book contains extracts and photos from the past 80 years, covering heritage, natural history and more.

William Turner The Father of English Botany, by Marie Addyman
This book, published in 2008, is an enthralling and comprehensive introduction to the life and achievements of William Turner, who was born in Morpeth in 1508. It covers the three main passions of Turner's life - religion, medicine and, of course, botany. The tumultuous reign of four Tudor Monarchs sets the scene for a life of travel and the continuous study of plants.

Town Trails for Morpethians

The Town Trails for Morpethians were originally written in the 1980s by local heritage enthusiast Alec Tweddle. Comprising a total of ten volumes, they describe in detail the fascinating history of Morpeth, essential reading for visitors and residents alike - past, present and future. Almost 25 years after the first Trail was published they are being lovingly revitalised by Alan Davison and Brian Harle of the Friends of Carlisle Park.
